July 2010 - RES WITHDRAWS APPLICATION FOR SOLWAYBANK

RES submitted a planning application to Dumfries and Galloway Council in 2009 for a 21-turbine scheme approximately 8km south west of Langholm. As a result of consultation with statutory consultees and local residents RES decided to modify the scheme by reducing the number of proposed turbines. As this constitutes a material change to our planning application, RES withdrew the application in July 2010. We are currently working on a new planning application and undertaking a thorough consultation process with the local community.

22 June 2009 - SOLWAYBANK WIND FARM APPLICATION SUBMITTED

RES is pleased to announce it has submitted plans for Solwaybank wind farm, located 8km south west of Langholm, to Dumfries and Galloway Council. Solwaybank wind farm will have an installed capacity of 42 MW.  Each turbine will be rated at 2MW and have a maximum blade tip height of 126.5m.  The site is in a great location to harness the excellent wind speeds in the area and provide enough clean green power for over 24,500 Scottish households, which is equivalent to 37% of the households in Dumfries and Galloway.
